XLU has bounced off its Aug 6 low straight into a tight resistance confluence (200-day SMA, a 3-touch swing zone, and the 50-day SMA) on contracting volume, while its relative-strength ratio to SPY sits at a 250-day-low RSI extreme — a weak, low-conviction rally into overhead supply inside a range/weak-trend regime.
Catalysts to Watch
XLU fell from its late-July high (~$46.6) to an Aug 6 low of $43.16, then bounced to $44.31 — landing almost exactly on the 200-day SMA ($44.33) and just under the 50-day SMA ($44.85) and a 3-touch swing-zone ($44.66), with volume contracting on the bounce and RS vs SPY making a fresh multi-month low.
