EEM printed a high-volume capitulation reversal on July 30 (~42M shares, nearly 2× the 20-day average) as price briefly dipped toward the 200-day MA ($60.35), halting a -9% pullback from July highs. With the golden cross structure intact and RSI reset from overbought to neutral (44.6), the setup favors a mean-reversion recovery attempt toward the 50-day MA and ultimately the 52-week highs — conditional on the 200-day MA holding as a floor.
Catalysts to Watch
On July 29–30, EEM sold off to an intraday low of $60.77 (approaching 200-day MA at $60.35), then reversed sharply with 42M shares of volume on July 30 — nearly 2× the 20-day average — closing at $63.59. MACD histogram turned fractionally positive on August 3, a first sign of momentum stabilization after the correction.
